Feast of the Epiphany

We have place the three kings in the crib and the Christmas stor is now complete.

The names of the wise men Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar are mystical,

magical and oriental.  the gifts they bring to Jesus are equally mysterious. 

Gold, is the king of metals.  In the crib is a child born to be king. 

Frankincense is incense. The Church has been using incense as a spiritual fragrance for centuries. 

Myrrh in us means that we die in and with Christ.

Donate used Mobile Phones to the Missions.

Thousands of used mobile phones are discarded annually especially around Christmas.

Missionaries of the Sacred Heart can recycle used mobiles to support their work

in Third World countries.  Phones with batteries(but not chargers) and also empty inkjet

cartidges can be handed into the MSC Promotion Office, Western Rd.

(adjacent to Wellingnton Bridge) or posted to Mobile Phone Recycling,

P.O. Box 23, Western Road, Cork.

This recycling scheme is environment friendly and it helps our missionaries

in poor countries.  Every €30 will care for an AIDs orphan in South

Africa for a month.
